30-Day Song Challenge :: Day 9 :: A Song That You Can Dance To
Going dancing used to be one of my most favorite things to do. More nights than not, we would get dressed up, music blaring, drive to Hollywood, music blaring, to duck into whatever underground club was going on that night. It never mattered that much to me what style it was, or what kind of music was playing, it was more about the people there, the venue, the atmosphere, the feel of the place. And no matter what the style, or music, I was always itching to get out on the floor, and dance.
I do not find myself at clubs much anymore, but that does not stop me from dancing around the house, or at live shows (space permitting). Even during my to-and-from-work commute, I am bopping around in my seat, often fighting the urge to pull the car over, roll down the windows, turn up the volume, and let loose on the side of the road.
I could make a monster-sized playlist of songs I love to dance to, crossing various genres, and decades of music. Today, though, it is the song that also currently resides as my younger daughter’s ring tone, that I would choose, because honestly, turned up on high, it is so danceable.
And, do they not say that every good dance song needs a “Na Na Na” in it?
