Nothings good enough for anybody else, it seems :: song of the day
Keep Art Alive :: “ai wa katsu-love conquers all” :: Art by Mari Inukai
Untitled
(by me)
My cluttered life,
taped together with want and need.
I shrink with all the destination demands,
sink into a murk of slack and strain,
wanting to curl under the nearest blanket,
climb the closest tree,
beside the cat,
and the fireplace,
beneath the rug;
anywhere to escape the endless to-do,
in my head,
a bottomless notepad,
and job titles,
heart shaped reminders from everyone that needs me,
pinned to my flesh,
yet nothing is ever enough.
hats to wear for every occasion.
Every persons now now now,
and I could just lose myself,
in the mess around me.
Maybe I would disappear,
for a day,
a week,
a month long lost weekend.
Then I could breathe.
Then I could listen.
Then I could quiet the calls in my head.

Thank you, Tony. Love your writing, your feedback means a lot. ~ Laura
Some lovely words. And a beautiful song. It took me back to my college days.
Yes, definitely a song from that time in my life, as well. Thanks for the comment, and for reading/listening.
Lovely verse. Good music too.
Thank you, much.
